Cox to set up its corporate headquarters in the historic warehouses of the Port Urban District

Cox will establish its corporate headquarters in Seville’s Port Urban District. The company will refurbish nearly 15,000 square metres in the historic warehouses of the Muelle de Tablada—10,000 m² in warehouse 5 and 7,000 m² in sheds 7 and 8—for a corporate campus that will bring together some 1,000 professionals.
The project includes collaborative spaces, green areas, sports facilities, sustainable mobility and photovoltaic panels. The presentation brought together Rafael Carmona, president of the Port Authority of Seville; José Luis Sanz, mayor of Seville; Jorge Paradela, regional minister for Industry; and Enrique Riquelme, chairman of Cox.
Proof that the model works
Beyond the business milestone, the operation validates the central thesis of the masterplan EDDEA drew up for the district’s 57 hectares: that the port’s industrial heritage—the warehouses and sheds built for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition—can keep working if it becomes a framework for contemporary uses, rather than being preserved as a museum piece.
It also confirms that the district is no longer a planning hypothesis: the first major operator is moving in even before the urbanisation works, scheduled for the end of 2026, have begun.
Cox’s arrival coincides with the centenary of the Corta de Tablada, the hydraulic engineering work that gave shape to Seville’s modern port.
