A new tourist resort connected with the towns of Aourir and Taghazout
The overall aim is an urban study on the planning of two connection zones for the new integrated tourist resort of Taghazout, together with its connection and development plan. The study areas and the resort lie within the administrative boundaries of the municipalities of Aourir and Taghazout, some eight km north of the city of Agadir, on the N1 highway between Agadir and Essaouira, along the Atlantic coast.
The urban core of Aourir is almost continuous with the northward urban expansion of Agadir through the Anza area, which is spreading into coastal and rural land as far as the core of Taghazout. This stretch, running for four km along the coast, will host the future tourist resort of Taghazout Bay.
The scope of managing the new tourist resort – spread across two different municipalities and with an influence reaching beyond the Taghazout Bay region – calls for a field analysis at territorial scale that captures the factors, elements and processes surrounding the intervention with an overall view of the territory: the land, its relationships and its dynamics.
It is a complex analysis that defines the study and intervention areas beyond the administrative limits of each municipality and stratifies the fields of analysis according to the scope of each layer of information studied.
CONSENSUS: To take into account the ideas and proposals put forward by stakeholders.
COHERENCE: Between the action plans and the various strategic plans affecting the intervention area.
BALANCE: Between urban development and the preservation of natural, cultural and social qualities.
TRANSITION: Between the existing settlements and the new tourist resort.
DEVELOPMENT: Of uses and activities that strengthen the socio-economic growth of the existing communities.
INTEGRATION: Of varied uses and activities that promote social diversity.
COMPLEMENTARITY: With the new resort as a guarantee for the tourism development of Taghazout and Tamragt-Aourir.
