The Armstrong residential scheme is Aedas Homes' largest development in Seville. It is a four-storey building with 120 one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments, each with a storage room and parking space, along with shared areas that include a swimming pool, a children's play area and a social lounge.

Located in the Cisneo Alto neighbourhood, next to the Carmona road and ten minutes from the centre of Seville, it has primary and secondary schools and shops close by, allowing residents to live entirely independently of a private car.

A strong exterior identity and flexible homes

Against the rigid volume set by current regulations, the main effort of EDDEA's proposal is to fit a flexible housing programme into a more dynamic volume, which improves sunlight conditions in the interior space and helps give the block a strong exterior identity.

Access to all the entrances is also organised through this courtyard, with planting separating the routes from the fronts of the homes to give them more privacy. The position of the swimming pool responds to two factors: maximum distance from the homes and the area with the best exposure to the sun.

The home types have standardised all their common elements (kitchens, bathrooms, toilets) and yet allow slight modifications, especially in the kitchen, lounge and living areas. This gives the housing programme great flexibility, so that it can adapt easily to real demand.

The interior courtyards play an important role, as they often open up the access areas to the homes. The stair and the façades are treated with light glass and steel elements to give them more depth and a finish in keeping with the exterior image of the building.
