Topping-out at Marbala: structure complete on the 84 subsidised homes in San Pedro de Alcántara

The Marbala development has celebrated its topping-out. It comprises 84 subsidised homes in San Pedro de Alcántara (Marbella), developed by Vimpyca and designed by EDDEA.

The topping-out marks the completion of the structure, one of those construction milestones at which months of accumulated work literally gain height. The team celebrated in fitting style: with a barbecue and with the flags of the nationalities of all the workers flying over the building.

Two blocks and a courtyard

The development comprises two symmetrical residential blocks of ground floor plus three storeys and a penthouse level, with two- and three-bedroom homes, retail units on the ground floor and basement parking. The two volumes define a central courtyard given over to gardens and shared spaces, with a communal pool set apart from the main entrance.

It is a project that sets out to prove that subsidised housing can have a contemporary image and high-quality interiors.

The visit brought together María de Paz, for the developer; Tomás Luzón and Ricardo Jimena, from construction management; and the team from the contractor Grupo AGP.
