Foundation stone laid for Puerta Magna: 172 subsidised rental homes in San Pedro de Alcántara

The Mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, and the architect and EDDEA founding partner Luis Ybarra laid the foundation stone of Puerta Magna I and II, the two subsidised rental housing schemes that Inmobiliaria Osuna will build in the southern part of San Pedro de Alcántara to a design by EDDEA.
172 homes on two plots
The development comprises 172 homes across two plots: 132 on the first and 40 on the second. Unit types range from one to four bedrooms, with floor areas of approximately 58 to 100 m², and all include a parking space and a storage room. Eight are adapted for people with reduced mobility. The programme is completed by a swimming pool, a residents’ clubhouse, landscaped gardens and six commercial units. Construction is scheduled to take two years.
The courtyard as the argument
Ybarra explained that the configuration of the plots “makes it possible to create communal interior spaces”, and noted that the fact that every home has its own private outdoor space is “one of the distinguishing features” of the development.
The mayor stressed that the project “represents a new opportunity for those who find it difficult” to access housing, with rents from €800 a month, “well below the market price”.
