“Learning to propose without fear of being wrong”: the first interview with Citythinking

It is the earliest surviving public reference to Citythinking. The blog Sevilla Arquitectura interviewed EDDEA’s newly founded think tank and described it as an interdisciplinary team of architects, geographers, economists, environmental scientists and artists.

The interview defines its purpose in a phrase that still holds fifteen years later: an “initiative to sharpen other perceptive tools and so make more complex and creative proposals”.

Against planning understood as a closed drawing, the team proposed looking at “the city as a superimposition of simultaneous events”. And a statement of intent: “Learning to propose without fear of being wrong”.
