Casa Forestier: why a French landscape architect gives his name to our project in San Bernardo

Casa Forestier is our project on the edge of the San Bernardo neighbourhood, in central Seville. It is being developed by Vía Célere, which usually names each of its developments after a significant figure in the history of the city where it builds.

In this case we proposed Jean-Claude Nicolas Forestier, the French landscape architect responsible not only for laying out the Parque de María Luisa but also for opening the city up to the Port of Seville in the early 20th century. We were very aware of the importance of his work when we drew up, for the Port Authority, the strategy for integrating the port lands into the city.

The proposal suited a housing scheme arranged around an inner garden, a few steps from the Plaza de España. Work is progressing: the structure of the four basement levels is complete, and the slabs of the second floor above ground are being finished.
