Metalocus publishes an in-depth analysis of EDDEA’s Museo Íbero in Jaén

Metalocus magazine has devoted an extensive article to the Museum of Iberian Art in Jaén, designed by EDDEA, under the title “A museum to recover a lost culture”.

From provincial prison to museum

The analysis traces the transformation of the former provincial prison into an 11,152-square-metre cultural facility, developed between 2009 and 2016 with an investment of €24.69 million. The article looks closely at how the programme is organised (exhibition galleries, conservation laboratories, archive and library) and at how the building resolves the relationship between the existing structure and the new piece.

The article coincides with the opening of the museum, which houses the world’s largest collection of Iberian art and has become one of the studio’s landmark works.
