EDDEA receives ABC de Sevilla’s ‘En Portada’ Award for its track record and internationalisation

EDDEA has received the ‘En Portada’ Award from the newspaper ABC de Sevilla in recognition of its track record and international reach. Now in their 6th edition, these awards honour people, companies and institutions connected with the city whose work helps to enrich the cultural, business and social fabric of the Andalusian capital.

The awards gala was held at the Consulate of Portugal, hosted by the Portuguese consul, Joao Queirós, together with the editor of ABC de Sevilla, Álvaro Ybarra; the managing director of ABC Andalucía, Álvaro Rodríguez Guitart; Seville’s first deputy mayor, Carmen Castreño; the Government’s delegate in Andalusia, Antonio Sanz; and the president of the Seville Provincial Council, Fernando Rodríguez Villalobos.

The award recognises the firm’s track record and internationalisation, through which it has carried Seville’s name to places such as Russia, Taiwan and Kenya. ABC noted in particular that the studio has focused part of its work on tackling a global challenge: the rapid movement of people from the countryside to the city in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

“The work we do at EDDEA is always guided by our vision of improving our surroundings through architecture and design. We are proud of this recognition from ABC de Sevilla and congratulate the other award-winners. There could be no finer finishing touch to the celebration of our 25th anniversary,” said José María de Cárdenas, partner at the firm.

Award-winners

The other winners included the Banco de Alimentos de Sevilla (Seville Food Bank), for its work feeding those most in need and helping people at risk of social exclusion into work through training; and La Belle de Cadix, the Croisi Europe river cruise ship that has brought more than 164,500 passengers to Seville since 2005 and has given a notable boost to river tourism in Spain.

Also honoured at ‘En Portada’ were the hat maker Fernández y Roche; the Real Club Sevilla Golf, committed since its founding to a wide-ranging programme of sporting activity in the city; and Cuca Escribano, a Madrid-born actress raised between Seville and Utrera, who has appeared on both the big and the small screen, in films such as ‘El camino de los ingleses’ and series such as ‘Arrayán’.
