EDDEA designs an AEDAS Homes residential scheme in Mairena del Aljarafe built around the idea of the adaptable home

EDDEA has designed Residencial Tovar for AEDAS Homes, a leading developer of new-build housing, its seventh development in Seville and second in the Aljarafe district. Located in the municipality of Mairena del Aljarafe, it offers a new concept of adaptable homes that can be personalised and adjusted to their owners’ needs.

“Three-bedroom flats can become two-bedroom homes, adding those square metres to the living room. It is also possible to combine the kitchen and living room,” explains Inmaculada Guzmán, Development Manager at AEDAS Homes in Andalusia. The first homes in the development, which already has its building permit, will be handed over at the end of 2020.

The complex comprises 100 homes in two blocks of 28 and 72 respectively, with two, three and four bedrooms, including penthouses with terraces of up to 60 square metres and ground-floor homes with gardens of up to 170 square metres. Shared spaces include outdoor swimming pools for adults and children, a padel court, a children’s play area and green spaces.

For the design, says Luis Ybarra, founding partner of EDDEA, “we envisaged a building with a strong, regular image that at the same time engages with its surroundings, where arcades in the most accessible area allow us to open the inner garden to the outside”.

The façade sets out to be dynamic, using ceramic pieces that give it vibrancy. “This material enriches the building through the many nuances it offers depending on the sunlight,” Luis Ybarra notes.

Located on Avenida Clara Campoamor in the Aljarafe town, the development is surrounded by all kinds of amenities, services and large green areas, and the Metro station to Seville is just a few steps away.
