EDDEA takes part in the project for fashion brand Scalpers’ new headquarters on Seville’s Isla de la Cartuja

EDDEA has taken part in the project for the new corporate headquarters that the fashion brand Scalpers will build in Seville. The building will stand on the Avenida de los Descubrimientos in the Cartuja Science and Technology Park (PCT Cartuja), on a 1,326-square-metre site once occupied by the Israel pavilion at Expo 92, as reported by the newspaper ABC.

The paper explains that the plot is consolidated urban land designated for advanced services, where a building of up to six storeys above ground can be built, as the Junta de Andalucía stated when it put the land up for auction in 2022. It was acquired by Grupo Galia, which has now sold it to Scalpers.

The real estate consultancy CBRE and EDDEA both took part in the operation, with EDDEA responsible for the brief and the architectural concept of the future offices. The proposal is a 3,800-square-metre hybrid building with a complex programme of workspaces and design and production areas, arranged over seven floors, two of them below ground.

The EDDEA team, made up of the architects Miguel Ángel Pérez, José María Sánchez and José María de Cárdenas, explains that the design for Scalpers is “a good example of how these workspaces for large corporations are being shaped around open layouts and dynamic spaces”.

According to ABC, the company, currently headquartered in the offices of the former Italy pavilion within the PCT, has grown rapidly and become one of Spain’s leading fashion retailers, with a strong international profile. Its revenue exceeds 152 million euros, after rising by 38% in 2022.

Scalpers was founded in 2007 as a menswear brand but has steadily diversified, launching boys’ clothing in 2012, womenswear in 2018, girls’ clothing in 2019 and homeware in 2021. With more than 300 stores worldwide, it has physical outlets in Portugal, Mexico, Chile, Turkey, Andorra and Spain, and is present in more than twenty markets through online marketplaces.
