Functional architecture and modern design define the Habitat Zahira residential scheme by EDDEA

Functional architecture, modern design, efficient use of space and top-quality materials are the main features of EDDEA’s project for the Habitat Zahira residential scheme, a newly built and already delivered development in Córdoba comprising 106 two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, with shared spaces designed to foster community life.
The development is located in PP-07-El Nuevo Zoco, Córdoba’s finest residential growth area, on Bulevar María Teresa de León, ten minutes from the centre and a stone’s throw from the Jardín de la Escritora Elena Fortún, close to numerous shops, services, schools and sports centres. Other facilities are also close at hand, such as the new Quirónsalud hospital, and there are good connections with the rest of the city, including the AVE high-speed rail station five minutes away.
For this project, EDDEA designed two distinct types of main entrance within a single block (the homes are grouped in twos per staircase, or in threes in the lower block), “which gives the complex two markedly different images, both in the arrangement of the volumes and in the skins of the façades, introducing compositional diversity,” explains Luis Ybarra, founding partner of EDDEA.
The scheme is a fully enclosed residential complex with a large central area that will act as a green lung and create spaces for community life. To that end, the private development has generous communal areas with a swimming pool, social club, padel court, bicycle parking and a landscaped walk.
The complex includes homes with gardens and terraces, as well as parking spaces and storage rooms. All the flats are dual-aspect with cross-ventilation, which gives them, as Ybarra explains, “plenty of natural light and greater comfort; they also stand out for their generous size, excellent specifications and carefully considered design”.
